Do you find yourself often distracted, unmotivated, or feeling anxious? Our busy lives and stresses can have a great impact on our bodies and health. Sooner or later we will run out of ‘steam’ if we don’t stop and be mindful of our wellbeing.
Mindfulness
It is important to train yourself to focus your attention in a way to calm your mind. We can feel stressed and be triggered by our work, relationships and day-to-day life. Being able to focus and be mindful can significantly contribute to your overall wellbeing.
Practising mindfulness also allows you to rest your body and mind while being grateful for what you have and appreciate the present moment. You become aware of your situation and environment so that you can direct your focus on positive thoughts and feelings, instead of negative reaction or judgment.
Not sure where to start?
You might wish to try Meditation to bring yourself into a state of mindfulness. Here are also some ways that can help:
- Breathing Exercises – focus on your breathing and keep your mind from wandering. Take slow, deep breaths to bring yourself into a state of calm and peace. Even if you only do this for a few minutes a day, you can train yourself to be mindful gradually.
- Be an Observer – take a step back and be an “observer” looking at your current situation. What are your feelings and thoughts? How would you label them, and are they positive or negative? Let the negative thoughts go and appreciate the present moment.
- Mindful Eating Habits – while eating ‘healthy’ has become increasingly popular in recent years, it’s also essential to focus on ‘how’ we eat as well as the food. Do you find yourself eating mindlessly in front of the TV, or scrolling through your phone as you put food into your mouth? Take a moment to enjoy your meal and feel your senses of smell, sight, and taste. Mindful eating also helps you control overeating or unhealthy comfort eating.
Your mind and your body are connected, and being to control your thoughts and feelings will keep you healthier, happier and even increase productivity in your work!
Bringing Back the Balance
Despite our best efforts to be mindful, sometimes we need the extra help to bring back the balance. Natural therapies, such as professional Kinesiology, can be applied to help you communicate better with yourself.
Our bodies have an innate ability to keep functioning and adapt to environmental changes. Kinesiology can identify imbalances in the body’s structural, chemical, emotional or other energy.
A Kinesiologist can access your energy blockages at a subconscious level and establish your body’s priority healing needs. The answers are always somewhere inside you!
Here at Empowering Wellness, our mission is to help you find the cause of what is preventing you from enjoying life to its fullest. Our expert health professionals focus on using your body’s innate ability to heal and repair itself, empowering you with a healthy body and mind.
